Chocolate Skateboards is the “exotic” brand of the Crailtap group, known for having modernized the Skateboard scene by creating a brand called Girl Skateboards in 1993…
It is thanks to Girl Skateboards that Chocolate skate was able to see the light of day! Wanting to expand the team in 1994, the company instead saw in the design of a new distinct brand a new approach to its vision of skateboarding, and it knew how to make this superb choice with ease, given the quality of the new pros. Skateboarders were already there at the official launch of the Chocolate Skateboards family. Starting with guys like Chico Brenes, Keenan Milton (RIP), Daniel Castillo, Paulo Diaz, Gabriel Rodriguez, Shamil Randle, Ben Sanchez and Richard Muler, this team had hyper “Chicano” traits in the guys style!
Times have passed, some riders have moved on, but the quality of the Chocolate brand riders have always been there, with still at the helm as “Big dady of the team” Chico Brenes, and more or less young shoots like Chris Roberts, Kenny Anderson, Jesus Fernandez, Justin Eldridge, Vincent Alvarez, or Yonnie Cruz.
We could see the prowess and creativity on a skateboard of all these pro skateboarders by watching skate videos now serving as a benchmark for new generations like "The Chocolate Tour in 1999" or Hot Chocolate in 2004 and more. recently Pretty Sweet in 2012, the latter of which received an award at the 15Th annual Transworld Magazine video for best skateboard video of the year.
Hawaiisurf skate shop offers you a wide choice of Chocolate skateboard decks, with the mythical series from web-designer Evan Hecox, who for each series, offers you a scene recreated by putting all the boards of the series glued to each other in a specific order.
Because they are splendid in terms of design, Chocolate skateboards also have the particularity of being robust and with a monstrous pop! Thus the company of the Crailtap group has remained one of the top 10 brands with us for decades at the heart of our Parisian skate shop.
