Firewire Surfboards is one of the world's best-known surfboard brands. Behind the name is Australian shaper Nev Hyman, who started the venture in 1981. Recently, surfing legend Kelly Slater bought a large number of shares in Firewire Surfboards, with the aim of giving the brand a new, more environmentally-friendly direction.
