The two brothers actually discovered an old model of inline skate in a sporting goods store. They then improved it. This is how the iconic brand Rollerblade brand was born. The sport grew strongly in the 80s, although the company 's geographical area was limited.

By the early 1990s, inline skates were being distributed internationally, and inline skating had become a cultural and family affair. This boom was also accelerated by major technological advances , including lighter skates made from stronger materials at ultra-competitive prices.
