The Sector 9 brand was born in 1993 in San Diego, California, in the backyard of a gang of four skateboarders/surfers. In a surf-friendly environment, with concrete streets running straight down to the ocean, Steve, Dave, Tal and Dennis started shaping boards in their backyard with a desire to recapture the feeling of surfing in the city. The guys were called nineballs by a friend of theirs, and the house had been renamed Sector 9, a nineball den. In search of a name to put on the boards, they simply took up the nickname given to the house Sector 9, pronounced in the American Sector nine.
Today, Sector nine has become a popular brand offering a wide range of boards, from skateboards to cruisers and longboards. You'll find touring boards inspired by retro surfboard shapes, longboards for downhill riding in the downhill division series, and more versatile boards, hybrids between cruiser and freestyle. You'll also find accessories to complete your equipment, including wheels, slide gloves and skate bags.
The team includes such fine names as surfer Joël Tudor and freeride and downhill longboarder Louis Pilloni. The brand has clearly become a benchmark in the board sports sector.
