The M23 X-Lite from Channel Islands is a hybrid funboard surfboard inspired by the famous M13 model from shaper Al Merrick. It combines easy paddling, stability, and performance, making it effective in a variety of wave conditions.
Its generous volume and balanced outline allow for early wave catching while maintaining a dynamic ride similar to a shortboard.
Outline (overall shape of the board): influences stability and maneuverability.
Rails (edges of the board): fuller rails provide more buoyancy.
The X-Lite construction (lightweight and durable epoxy technology) uses an EPS core (light foam that enhances buoyancy) with epoxy resin (stronger than polyester).
