In 1952, Jack O'Neill opened a surf store in a garage in California. At that time, he shaped a few balsa boards and sold a few accessory products. Jack later became deeply involved in the development of wetsuits. After several trials with different materials, he stumbled across neoprene and discovered its rich properties. His neoprenes met with great success, and the company expanded. Today, O'Neill has diversified into technical ski/snowboard clothing.
